They are seeking Licensed Diesel /Heavy Vehicle Mechanics to repair, maintain and test heavy vehicles, other engines and related mechanical components and may perform the following tasks:
Regular servicing, overhaul, repair, tune, maintain and test diesel /gas-powered vehicles, such as trucks, buses, bulldozers and other earthmoving equipment, tractors, & other engines. Also determine the life/need to replace components or equipment rather than repair.
Detect mechanical and electrical faults by using instruments that check charging and starting circuitry, batteries, ignition and ignition timing, fuel injection systems and speed control, cylinder compression, engine condition, braking efficiency, and wheel balance and alignment;
Repair and maintain the hydraulic components of diesel /gas engines that are used to power attachments such as hoists, booms, scrapers, buckets and augers. Work on transmissions and hydraulic systems of heavy equipment.
Diesel/Heavy Vehicle Mechanics need to have
Local NSW Standard Trade License with related qualifications. 5 to 10 years experience
An appropriate standard level of health and fitness. A commitment to safe working practices and the ability to work to safety guidelines. An ability to work overtime if required;
No skin allergies or reactions to grease, oil or petrol. Tools will be provided as required.

You are a degree qualified engineer (electrical, communications or civil) with solid experience in the signalling industry. Your duties will be varied but will include working on site, dealing with sub-contractors, dealing with RFI’s, liaising with the client, scheduling and some procurement duties. Due to the nature of this role, you’ll need to possess a solid understanding of the civil/rail construction industry and be able to call on considerable project engineering experience to fulfil the day-to-day responsibilities of the position. You are an advanced communicator, able to deal effectively with both clients and stakeholders. You already possess your RISI ticket and are comfortable working in a zero harm environment. Exposure to signalling projects would be highly beneficial but candidates with civil structures or other rail related experience will also be considered providing you have the drive and motivation to succeed. Your relationships with stakeholders in the NSW rail industry will be integral to your success in this position. A full time permanent role is on offer and this business has a policy of retaining, training and mentoring staff to assist them with career progression within the organisation.
