This Department is servicing the Urban Design requirements for the Gold Coast and will have you in a Project Management position accountable for the design functionality over a variety of municipal services and infrastructure projects. Reporting to the Executive coordinator Stormwater and Environmental you will also be responsible for liaising to a variety of external government and statutory authorities, consultants, council personnel and professional bodies. With such a heavy focus on municipal planning and design, it is imperative that you possess demonstrated experience in undertaking needs analysis, planning and reviewing design components for Capital Works and Service Programs. You will also be required to determine, evaluate and co-ordinate stormwater construction techniques. The Skills and Key Responsibilities: • Associate Degree in Civil Engineering or Advanced Diploma of Civil Engineering • Full Project Management accountabilities including cost estimating for preliminary and detailed designs for complex projects • Provide specialist technical and expert advise to a multi-disciplinary design team • Demonstrated 10 years experience in Stormwater design and construction techniques including evaluation, selection and coordination • Ability to self motivate, whilst mentoring and leading staff • High level of communication skills, both oral and written, with a demonstrated ability to: Compile concise, practical and appropriate designs and communicate with people at all levels • Demonstrated working knowledge of Hydrologic and GIS software, TUFLOW, MIKE Programs, ArcGIS and MUSIC This is a full time position based on the Gold Coast that offers a variety of projects, a skilled team of professionals within a working environment that enforces a work/life balance mentality.
