The successful Electrical Design Draftsman’s daily responsibilities will involve:
• Develop reliable cost effective designs using AutoCAD
• Complete Electrical Engineering Design Calculation
• Produce some technical supports
• Maintaining Australian design standards
• Initiate and participate in cost reduction and value analysis projects.
• Systems development
• Production of drafts / drawings from supplied information such as engineering
• Deliver drawings to satisfy quality, accuracy and timing requirements of clients and Senior Engineers.
• Creation and selection of BOM’s along with Senior Engineers.
The successful candidate will possess the following:
• Electrical degree or diploma
• Previous Mining Machinery Design will be highly regarded – longwall, conveyors, underground, etc
• Strong Mechanical and hydraulic Systems designs knowledge
• Previous mining equipment or heavy engineered product experience required
• Strong AutoCAD skills
• Experience in programming PLC would be highly regarded
• Those with HV will be favoured
• 4+ Years experience as a designer working in a Drawing office
• Coordinate and manage communication and engagement issues as they arise
• A good understanding of power distribution systems, sound knowledge of DC and AC drive technology and control systems
• Sound knowledge of AS3000 & AS3008
